On those rare occasions when current and past stars of Doctor Who filmed episodes together the air has sometimes turned a tad chilly. But “Tenth Doctor” David Tennant says there were no such problems when, earlier this year, he and his TARDIS successor Matt Smith shot this November’s special 50th anniversary show.
“I suppose you’d expect me to say we’re new best friends and I love him like a brother,” the Scottish actor tells EW. “But that is sort of how it was. I had a fantastic time and that wouldn’t necessarily have been the case. I’m coming back onto a show that’s effectively somebody else’s show and used to be mine and that’s potentially quite a weird situation to be in.”

I read that you were cast because you can speak faster than Matt Smith. Is that a talented that you just always had?

Day 18 ❥ Favorite TPTB Quote about Harmony
↳ “I tried very hard to soften it, I suppose. Just because someone had a view on Harry/Hermione didn’t mean they weren’t genuine, or that they were necessarily misguided. In fact, I will say this, Steve Kloves who has been the script writer [on the Potter films], who is enormously insightful on the series and a very good friend, after he read book seven he said to me, ‘You, know, I thought something was going to happen between Harry and Hermione, and I didn’t know whether I wanted it or not.’
[Kloves] felt a certain pull between them at that point. And I think he’s right. There are moments when [Harry and Hermione] touch, which are charged moments. One when she touches his hair as he sits on the hiltop reading about Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and [two] the moment when they walk out of the graveyard with their arms around each other.
Now the fact is that Hermione shares moments with Harry that Ron will never be able to participate in. He walked out. She shared something very instense with Harry.”
So I think it could have gone that way.”- JK Rowling.
We had a wonderful fan question for the three of you; they asked if you kept anything from set as a memento after filming was wrapped for the final time?
Bradley: Uh, yeah, Excalibur is going to find it’s way into my house pretty soon.
Katie: I was quite lucky that, since my costume didn’t really change of the past few years, they had quite a few examples of it so they gave me the oldest and most ratty one - but I did get a version of my costume to keep.
Colin: I have kept a few things, but they are for people, so in case it gets publicized [before I’m ready], I’m gonna wait.
Bradley’s got Excalibur…excuse me…
